In July, 2012, Sky Sports News presenters Julian Waters & Rob Wotton cycled from St James Park in Exeter to St James’ Park in Newcastle. That’s 400 miles in 1 week to raise money for Rett Syndrome Research Trust UK.
Also taking part were Andy Stevenson, co-founder of Reverse Rett, whose daughter Beth also suffers from Rett, as well as Nick Dodds, Gavin Rogers and Lee Bibring.
Together they raised more than £9,000 and generated plenty of media coverage.
A huge thanks too must go to Love Velo who organised the trip superbly, to Hotel Malmaison who provided the accomodation and to Starley Bikes who lent us the all-important bikes. All great companies with charitable natures.
